Willow Nursery and Best Start Family Hub
Our Curriculum
At Willow Nursery and Best Start Family Hub, we provide high-quality early education in a nurturing, inclusive environment. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and deliver a play-based curriculum that supports every child to thrive.
Our aim is to help children become:
- Skilful communicators
- Active, independent learners
- Secure and confident individuals
We recognise that every child is unique. Learning is carefully planned around children’s starting points, interests and individual needs. We work closely with parents, carers and professionals to ensure all children — including those with SEND — receive the support they need to reach their full potential.
How We Support Learning
We prioritise the prime areas of learning:
- Communication and Language
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Physical Development
Alongside this, we develop early skills in literacy, mathematics, understanding the world and expressive arts and design.
Communication is central to our approach. We provide a language-rich environment and use a total communication approach, including Makaton, visual supports and targeted speech and language programmes where needed.
Our enabling environment promotes independence, curiosity and confidence. Children enjoy access to engaging indoor and outdoor learning spaces, sensory-friendly areas, and meaningful experiences that prepare them for a smooth transition to primary school.
Assessment and Progress
We regularly track children’s development and use this information to plan next steps, ensuring strong progress for all children.
