TAC PAC

TACPAC is a unique way of supporting communication and interaction by combining simple touch with music. It is especially beneficial for children at the earliest stages of communication, including those with SEND or complex needs, helping them to connect with others and begin to share their responses.

How It Works

  • Sensory Connection: Children experience a combination of touch and sound. Each object has a matching texture and musical tone, helping children link what they feel with what they hear.
  • Calm Environment: Sessions usually take place in the sensory room, a space designed to be calm, quiet, and free from distractions.
  • Individual or Small Group: TACPAC can be delivered one-to-one or in small groups, tailored to the child’s needs and responses.
  • Personalised Experience: Objects and music are chosen to suit each child’s preferences, developmental level, and sensory needs, allowing them to feel safe and supported while exploring.

Benefits for Children

TACPAC supports children in a wide range of areas, including:

  • Communication: Encourages early vocalisations, gestures, and attention to social cues.
  • Social Interaction: Helps children respond to and interact with others in a positive, structured way.
  • Sensory Awareness: Enhances understanding of different textures, movements, and sounds.
  • Emotional Regulation: Provides a calming, reassuring experience for children who may find new experiences overwhelming.
  • Confidence and Engagement: Builds trust and encourages children to explore and respond at their own pace.
